CODICILS
Need to make minor changes to your last will and testament?
A Codicil is a legal document that changes specific provisions of a Will but leaves all of the other provisions unchanged. As long as you are mentally competent, you can change, modify, update, or completely revoke your Will at any time. But the question is, when should you make a Codicil and when should you write an entire new Will?
LASTING POWERS OF ATTORNEY
When the time comes, who should make your decisions on your behalf?
This is a legal document that allows someone to choose other people who they want to make decisions on their behalf including when they lack mental capacity to make the decisions themselves. It is completed while the person still has the ability to understand what they are doing.
SEVERANCE OF A JOINT TENANCY
Shared property ownership? Make the necessary changes with us prior to will writing.
The rules governing property ownership are important because you cannot leave property that you do not own by Will. If you own any property in shared ownership – such as joint ownership or ownership ‘in common’ – this will affect your right to give away this property.
